2nd Grade activities for Steamboat Era Stories:

(2) Color the map and identify the key bodies of water and towns/cities. Also correctly label the compass rose indicating North, South, East and West. Map Form

(3) Clothes Line Time line (own format). Create a time line of changes in transportation to display in the classroom. After class discussion, divide students into groups to draw their choices. (Examples: foot, horse, wagon, carriage, steamboat, train, automobile, street-car, bus, boat, airplane, subway, etc.)
