00/20 L,F,C Talks about growing up in his grandfather's home.Father worked in the Thompson Store across the street. Talks about as a child going up to Mr. Haden's store buying hotdogs and cooking them under the bridge. Would swim in the Stevens pool. Would row all over Carter's Creek. Went to school in Irvington. 5th grade became janitor in the school to make extra money. Talks about the chores he performed as janitor. Times were tough.

 5/00  W,M,C  Worked at the Irvington Fish and Oyster Company located where Marina is now. Worked there at night and on weekends - stacked up boxes of fish in cold storage also worked in the freezer plant at the same location. Was paid 40 cents an hour.

 8/02  L,C  Describes riding the bikes all over town. Would go down past the Wilder house. Always would stop and talk to Mrs. Wilder - Delivered Richmond News Leader. Talked about playing in the Wilder Woods - down in the raven. Would trap some animals - muskrats.

10/50  L Uncle, Bernard Willinger owned store where account office is today on Steamboat Rd. Had a soda fountain - ice cream. On other side of store was hardware store.

 19/00  SW  House was located right next to steamboat wharf. Father would take him to dock every Sunday - caves waiting to be shipped out on Monday morning. Watched boats come in and back around. Uncle was wharf agent.
